The Ellis Edwards Foundation aims to ease the emotional burden of childhood bereavement by offering accessible, inclusive, and therapeutic experiences. We help children and their families to process loss, build resilience, and rediscover moments of joy, together.

Story

Ellis Edwards was diagnosed with stage 4 neuroblastoma when he was just five. He faced six years of treatment with incredible courage, and he died in August 2024, aged 11. His family set up the Ellis Edwards Foundation in his memory. It helps the children who are often overlooked when someone they love dies of illness: the brothers, sisters and young people left behind.

The foundation gives these children time to just be kids again. It funds days out, breaks away, activity days and sporting events, as well as counselling and grief support suited to their age. It also keeps supporting them long after the first weeks, because grief doesn't stop when everyone else moves on.

When Clare Ody, one of the foundation's trustees & a colleague of mine (Pip), mentioned that charity places were available for the London Marathon, my stepson Jude and I decided to apply, and we're delighted to be running for this cause. Running 26.2 miles side by side will be a huge honour for us both. Every mile we run is for them.

Anything you can give, however small, helps bring some light back into a grieving child's life. Thank you so much for your support.
