Story
Thank you for stopping by my page.
When I opened the email, I was fully expecting it to say, “Sorry, not this time — your training jacket is on its way.”
Instead, it said, “Congratulations.”
Back in 2023, I ran the London Marathon, but I limped through it with injury and pain. This time, I’m following a strict training plan and, so far, so good — no injuries.
Alongside this journey, I have had the privilege of crossing paths with an amazing group of women at Nottingham Central Women’s Aid.
Their work is incredible. The charity supports so many women and children who are experiencing abuse and crisis. It puts things into perspective. During the cold training runs, when my legs and fingers are numb and I’m questioning my life choices, I remind myself that my discomfort is nothing compared with what some people are forced to endure.
I’m not expecting to raise huge amounts, but I am asking for your support to help me raise something meaningful for this amazing charity.
What your donation could help achieve:
• £15 could help bring a family to safety quickly after experiencing abuse
• £60 could pay for essential items and support for a woman and child in refuge
• £150 could provide therapeutic activities and specialist support for a child in refuge
• £600 could help provide practical support and activities for families in crisis after escaping abuse
• £1,575 could help fund ongoing domestic abuse intervention and recovery programmes in the community
Every donation, whatever the amount, will make a difference.
Thank you for your support.
