Pippa's Ridgeway Challenge

Created via charity sign up service.

Story

Straight after Easter I will be challenging myself to walk from Swindon to Ivinghoe along the Ridgeway (around 80 miles in 5 days) . I am doing this to challenge myself and raise money for Talkback UK.

I want to support them because the work they do is important. This walk is also in memory of Etienne Ostercamp who worked with Talkback and was my neighbour. He, like me, had a love for walking and inspired me every day to approach life with a smile on my face and a spring in my step. Whilst I know this walk may be tough at points, I will remind myself to stay positive just like he did. I also hope that raising money for Talkback will help them to continue helping individuals like Etienne go out into the world and spread joy.

Talkback have been working for 24 years to provide opportunities for autistic individuals and people with a learning disability. Their goal is to support and empower individuals to experience personal growth, contribute to their local community, and live fulfilling lives.

They achieve this by working in person-centred ways and putting the voices of autistic individuals and people with a learning disability at the forefront of everything they do.

UPDATE: Having now finished the walk which ended up being a total of 95 miles. I would like to thank everyone who sponsored me, it really kept me going through the challenge
