Story
This year, we’ve set an ambitious goal – we’re raising £10,000 for Brain Tumour Research in honour of Marie’s (our co-founder and Creative Director) late husband, Dave Holden.
After a fiercely fought battle with brain cancer, Dave sadly passed away in February 2019. His journey left a lasting impact, and through this grief, we've found a way to give back. Knowing how proud Dave would be that Pistachio has hit the big 2-0 this year, the entire team is taking part in a year of fundraising. From charity events to personal challenges, we’re committed to making a difference. You hear that, Dave? Let's do this!!
We’ll be keeping you updated on our progress and would love for you to join us in raising awareness – helping to make a difference to real people's, real lives.
In 2015, Dave gave an interview to Brain Tumour Research, and said:
Before my diagnosis I had never had any experience with cancer, let alone brain tumours. When something like this happens you learn very quickly although researching on Google is sometimes dangerous. It is very shocking to learn how many people are affected by brain tumours and yet this disease receives just 1% of the national spend on cancer research.

More info from Brain Tumour Research
Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer… yet just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease. This is unacceptable!
We are fundraising for Brain Tumour Research as they are the only national charity dedicated to funding long-term, sustainable research in the UK.
Please help us fund the fight. Together we will find a cure.
