Story
Harvey loves his rugby. Always the first to sign up for training. Always keen to work on his Strength and Conditioning telling his rugby coach each week that “bringing down the big boys” through "big hits" was his passion on the field, as demonstrated when he crashed through Battersea Ironsides to score a winning try in the Leicester Tigers Minehead final. Always trying to find an edge to be the best player and human being he can be both on and off the field. He loves his rugby, loves his mates. A real winner!
In early 2023, Harvey's family shared the terrible news that doctors had found a large, malignant tumour in his arm and that he would be stepping away from rugby for treatment and chemo for the foreseeable future. Wind the clock forward 15 months to present day, Harv and his family continue to battle against this terrible disease with the close support and love of extended family and friends. At the end of rugby season 2023 Harv received the prestigious “Heart of a Lion” award from his rugby club, Oxford Harlequins RFC, aged 14 years, and he remains in everyone's thoughts and prayers daily. Wallingford RFC was Harv's previous club until 2022, and they too shared similar experiences of the boy wonder “Harv is an inspiration to all of our players and coaches at Wallingford RFC. When he was here, he never missed training, always gave 110%, tackled ferociously, an absolute joy to coach!”.
To help Harv and his Mum and Step-Dad, who have also been big supporters of the Quins boys at training and matches, Oxford Harlequins RFC and Wallingford RFC asked if Harv wanted to set up a donation page for an organisation that has meant a lot to him these last 15 months during his cancer treatment. Harv has chosen “Young Lives vs Cancer”, which helps families like his face the rising costs of getting the cancer treatments and drugs they need quickly, or removing the risk of missing vital treatments because they cant afford to get to the appointments. This charity has been incredibly supportive to Harv, and his family, helping answer their every question and concern, making them more at ease through what has undoubtedly been an incredibly stressful and worrying time.
Here's where you can help Harv! By donating to this charity “Young Lives Vs Cancer” both Harv and the family believe it will go a long way in helping all those young lives and families in a similar situation. Harv wants nothing more than to be on the rugby field with his mates. Having fun, playing hard!
By donating generously to his charity this is you doing your bit in helping make the daily lives of those affected families, like young Harvey's, just that little bit easier.
Please donate as much as you can afford
Thank you ❤️
