Story
*** Update with little Hopes bill exceeding £1,800 alone and Chance's pending surgery - our bills are continuing to grow and we anticipate will reach as much as £2,500. - Absolutely anything you can give in support is a huge help <3
** Thank you so much to everyone who has donated so far, what a difference your kindness and generosity will make to these two tiny kittens! Both are which are doing well and getting stronger every day!
With mum only young herself and struggling to feed her babies, little Hope and Chance really had the odds against them. After the loss of one of their tiny littermates, they were surrendered to our Cats Protection Plymouth branch for care and urgent veterinary intervention.
They arrived very underweight and suffering from severe cat flu, both with eye infections and painful eye ulcers that affected them being able to open their eyes.
Their little mouths were also ulcerated making it difficult for them to eat – the vet prescribed antibiotics and eye ointment, and our priority has been increasing their weight with regular feeds, so they have the best chance of pulling through.
One of Hope’s eyes was very swollen and painful, we were told it would need to be removed but at the time, she was too tiny for the operation.
Around the clock care, medication and regular feeds from our dedicated foster team got Hope to the weight she needed to be, and she was able to have her eye removal operation! Such a big op, for such a tiny kitten – but thank goodness, she made it through – and not without thanks to the wonderful team at Woodlands Vets.
It's a long road to recovery for the little ones, but they are so determined.
We have had a number of veterinary visits, with further booked. We anticipate their care, medications, follow-up veterinary appointments and a possible entropion surgery for Chance, will cost our volunteer led branch over £1,500 and this is why we really need your help!
Can you contribute anything today towards the cost of the kitten's lifesaving treatment, giving them the chance to live a happy life and hope that things really will get better!
