Why We're Running
Earlier this year, our colleague and friend Jasmine was diagnosed with lymphoma. It has been a big shock, the kind of news that stops a busy office in its tracks and puts everything else into perspective.
Since then, we've watched Jasmine face this with more strength and humour than we thought possible, and it's made us want to do something, however small, to help others going through the same fight.
That's why we're lacing up and taking on a half marathon (13.1 miles, further than most of us have ever run) in support of Teenage Cancer Trust. They provide specialist nurses, dedicated hospital units, and support that helps young people with cancer feel less alone at one of the hardest times in their lives. It's the kind of support we want to make sure is there for every teenager who needs it, just like it's been there for Jasmine.
None of us are natural runners. There will be sore legs, questionable playlists, and probably a few tears (of the good and bad variety) along the way. But it's nothing compared to what Jasmine and so many young people are going through, so we're not complaining.
Every pound you donate goes directly towards specialist nurses, support workers, and services that help teenagers and young adults get through cancer treatment and get their lives back afterwards.
Thank you for reading this far, and thank you in advance for anything you can give. We're running for Jasmine, and for every teenager facing the same fight.
