Hello everyone!
In just over a month (eeek) I'll be running the Amsterdam marathon and I am raising money for North East Trust for Aphasia (NETA).
Aphasia is a complex language and communication disorder, often caused by stroke, brain injury or neurological illness such as Alzheimer's. It can cause difficulties with speech, understanding, reading, writing and numbers and is often completely life changing for those it affects.

I volunteered with NETA during my undergraduate degree and was privileged to see first hand what a fantastic charity it is and the wonderful and resilient people that it supports. NETA provides support for individuals with aphasia and their families as well as raising awareness of aphasia. NETA runs activities such as conversation groups, music groups, arts and crafts and much more. It provides a space for conversational practice in a safe and supportive environment in order to build confidence and increase participation for those with aphasia.
