Story
Pompey to Pompeii – A Vespa Journey for Mental Health
In May 2026, I will ride 3,500km solo across Europe on a Vespa — from Portsmouth to Pompeii.
No support.
No shortcuts.
Just me, the road… and my thoughts.
I only passed my motorcycle licence six months ago — which makes this both a physical challenge and a personal one.
But this journey is about far more than distance.
I’m doing this in memory of a close friend I lost to suicide last year — and for everyone silently struggling with their mental health.
Because mental health doesn’t just affect one person.
It affects families, friends, and those left behind.
When my father passed away from cancer during COVID, I found myself withdrawing and isolating more than I ever expected. That period showed me just how powerful — and dangerous — isolation can be.
This ride is about facing that head-on.
It’s about raising awareness, starting conversations, and reminding people that even when someone looks fine — they might not be.
And more importantly:
No one should have to go through it alone.
