On 11th September, five of us — Warren Munson, Mark Northey, Jason Gault, Jim Beashel and Ned Popham — will set off from Poole and cycle 260 miles to Paris in just three days, supported along the way by Julian Lockwood.

We’ve all done our fair share of cycling over the years. Unfortunately, most of those years were some time ago! So 260 miles in three days is going to hurt.

But we have a very good reason for doing it.

Cancer has touched all of our lives through people we have loved, lost or seen face the disease. This year that has become especially personal. Warren lost his wife, Michala in April, and Mark lost his dad, Bill, in March both to cancer.

So this ride is about more than getting to Paris.

It is about remembering Michala, Bill and the other people who mean so much to us. It is also about supporting Lewis-Manning Hospice Care and the incredible work they do for people and families when they need it most.

There will undoubtedly be tired legs, sore backsides and moments when Paris feels a very long way away. Every donation will give us another reason to keep pedalling.
