Story
On the 13th of February 2022, my best friend’s mum Simone Wade unexpectedly passed away. One of the main causes was sepsis which she suffered from multiple times during her two year battle with ongoing illness.
After seeing the heartache and struggles Morgan and her family have been through, we (myself and Morgan’s friends Ellina Hickman and Lilly Webb) have decided to run the Cardiff half Marathon on the 6th October 2024 in loving memory of Simone. Simone was a wonderful, intelligent, funny, loving lady who would always put everyone before herself.
We would like to raise awareness of how quickly life can be changed by this aggressive infection, to avoid further trauma for families in similar situations.
Sepsis Uk raises awareness, and sparks the question: “What is sepsis? It helps to prevent thousands of deaths and unnecessary suffering through vital support work, public awareness and educating health professionals. Alongside this, sepsis UK also helps people to adjust after being affected by Sepsis and who are left with long-term health issues, similar to Simone.
By donating, you can help prevent thousands of deaths & unnecessary suffering through knowledge & awareness of the symptoms.
If you can, please donate to this amazing cause, to help other families, like Morgan’s, avoid the pain that sepsis causes daily across the UK. However small, your donation will not go unnoticed!
For those that know me well! You know I HATE running so if you want to come and support us & Sepsis UK you’re more than welcome! 🙏
Thank you in advance and we’ll keep you all updated on our training🫶🫶
