Throughout August, the team at Port Hamble Marina are campaigning to raise funds for our Local Independent Hamble Lifeboat. We have set a fundraising target of £3000. We invite our berth holders, tenants and visitors to get involved or donate.

Events:

24hr Cyclathon

When: Friday 30th & Saturday 31st August from midday- Midnight

The Challenge: To keep the exercise bike turning for 24 hours. We are looking for volunteers to jump on the exercise bike for 30-minute sessions. If you have a group of people who would like to book a 1-hour session, please get in touch. You can take turns and cheer on your teammates to keep the pedals turning!

Fundraising: We are asking for a donation of £30 per 30-minute session, or £50 for a 60-minute session. Any additional donations are welcomed to support the cause. Each rider will be offered a FOC ticket to the BBQ on Sunday 1st September.

Location: The exercise bike will be positioned outside Banana Wharf on both days between midday & midnight

Family BBQ

Sunday 1st September between 1pm – 4pm

Tickets: £10 for adults, £5 for children (50% of ticket prices go to the lifeboat).

You are invited to join us for a BBQ and drinks on the quayside outside Ancasta Yacht Services. The Hamble lifeboat will be joining us to meet the crew and give tours of the boat. We’ll be announcing a raffle winners and will have some family fun activities. Tickets can be purchase from the marina office throughout august.

How You Can Get Involved:

• Participate in the Cycle Challenge: We are looking for volunteers to jump on the exercise bike to help us keep pedalling continuously for 24 hours. This can be individually, or as a group of colleagues, berth holders, or family and friends. Please speak to the marina office to sign up, book a slot, and make your donation.

• Buy Raffle Tickets: Purchase raffle tickets for a chance to win some great prizes. Tickets available from the Marina office & Fuel berth throughout August. The raffle will be drawn on Sunday afternoon.

• Donate Raffle Prizes: We welcome gifted prizes of any size or value. This could be a service your business provides, a gift voucher, event tickets or experiences, or even an unopened bottle from your drinks cabinet. You name it, and we would be happy to add it to the raffle prizes. (please can you make any donations before Wednesday 28th August)

• Volunteer Over the Weekend: We would greatly value the support of any volunteers who can lend their support over the weekend. This may include marshalling the exercise bike, welcoming participants, helping with refreshments, cheering participants on, collecting donations, assisting at the family BBQ, serving drinks, and helping with activities. Hamble Lifeboat is an independent lifeboat service operating since 1968 in one of the busiest stretches of water in the UK. Our standard operating area is Central Solent & Southampton Water and associated rivers Test, Itchen and Hamble.

We rely on generous donations from the public in order for our entirely voluntary crew to provide this declared facility for the UK Coastguard. We receive no funding from the MCA or the RNLI.
