Paul McGonigle Takes On Hadrian's Wall for Alzheimer's Society

Positive Lending is raising money for Alzheimer's Society

Hadrian’s Wall Trek · 18 September 2026

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

This September, Positive Lending CEO and Founder, Paul McGonigle, will take on an incredible solo challenge in honour of his late father, Robert.

In just four days, Paul will hike the full length of Hadrian’s Wall – an epic 84-mile (135km) and 2000 metres of elevation gain during his journey finishing on 21st September, World Alzheimer’s Day.

Paul is raising money for the Alzheimer’s Society, a charity dedicated to supporting people affected by dementia. Through its services, the charity provides practical advice, emotional support and hope to individuals and families, while also funding groundbreaking research and campaigning for better dementia care.

By taking on this demanding challenge, Paul hopes to raise awareness as well as vital funds to support the charity’s life-changing work.
