On 12th October, my brother and I will be taking on the Manchester Half Marathon, alongside my best friend Faye, to raise money for Cancer Research.

In 2021, we heartbreakingly lost our mum to mesothelioma - a rare and devastating form of lung cancer. Mum was the bravest, strongest, and most selfless person you could ever meet, and she fought with incredible courage right until the very end.

This run is our chance to give something back to the amazing Cancer Research charity, who helped provide vital treatment and care for our mum throughout her illness, and who continue to support countless other families facing the same battles.

We're also running in memory of our Auntie Sue, who is forever in our hearts, and in gratitude for the wonderful treatment our Uncle Paul received.

Although none of us are major runners, we are determined to give it our all - inspired every step of the way by the strength and resilience our mum showed throughout her journey.
