John's fundraiser for PACS1 Research UK

John Powell is raising money for PACS1 Research UK

Wacky Races is a UK-based charitable car rally and community event raising funds for PACS1 research and Whole Life Villages, supporting children with disabilities and their families. · 23 June 2026

PACS1 Syndrome is a very rare genetic condition caused by mutation of the PACS1 gene. There are just 100 cases that have been identified worldwide. Diagnosis is typically done using full genome or exome sequencing. Both methods are expensive and not easily available. There are likely many more cases out there, that will eventually be reported as people learn about the condition, and testing becomes more affordable and available. Our charity is trying to raise awareness of PACS1 and contribute to further research and support of people with this condition.

Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Many of you will already know how passionate the Frankham Group is about supporting meaningful causes. This year, as with last, we are proud to continue our support of Roy Parish and his team at Pelham Interiors in raising awareness of PACS1 syndrome—a rare neurodevelopmental condition caused by a mutation in the PACS1 gene. This disorder can result in intellectual disability, developmental delay, speech challenges, and distinctive facial features.

In 2026, two exciting fundraising events will be taking place: the Wacky Races Car Rally and Wacky Races Sail, both of which Frankham is delighted to sponsor. You can find out more about these fantastic initiatives here:

Alongside raising awareness, we are also hoping to make a meaningful contribution through fundraising. I am therefore reaching out to my network of friends, colleagues, and valued supply partners to kindly ask for your support. Any donation—no matter how small—will help us make a real difference for those affected by this incredible cause.

Thank you for your generosity and support.
