Pownall Green PTA is a registered charity run entirely by parent and teacher volunteers, with one simple goal: to make every child's time at our school as rewarding as possible. Through a year of friendly community events — from our Christmas and Summer Fairs to the Pownall Ball, discos and this sponsored bike ride — we raise money for the valuable extras that school budgets, tighter than ever, can't always stretch to.

Every penny goes straight back to the children. In the past year alone we've donated over £37,000 to the school, funding new interactive touchscreen whiteboards in each classroom (vastly improving the way teachers can interact with the children), refurbishment of both the Reception classrooms and the Reef sensory room, as well as subsidised trips such as the KS2 Shakespeare workshop, and much more. By sponsoring our riders, you're helping us give every child at Pownall the resources, opportunities and happy memories that make school special.

The rides

The Epic Ride (10km) — A 10km sponsored ride around Bramhall for our more confident riders (Year 3 and up), taking in the quiet roads of the Dairyground, compacted gravel tracks and dedicated bike paths before looping back to school.

The Mini Epic — A sponsored, timed 30-minute ride around the school's 200m all-weather track, perfect for our youngest riders (Reception to Year 2/3) — balance bikes welcome! It's not a race; riders simply complete as many laps as they can, with grown-ups cheering from the trackside.
