Story
I used to think strength meant staying silent.
Every morning, I’d put on a smile, show up, and do what was expected of me. On the outside, everything looked fine; I had good grades and held leadership responsibilities. But inside, it felt like I was carrying a weight no one could see.
There were days when even getting out of bed felt like a challenge. Days when my thoughts were louder than everything else. And the hardest part? I felt like I had to deal with it alone. But here’s what I’ve learned: you’re not weak for struggling, and you’re definitely not alone.
Right now, 1 in 5 people in England report experiencing a mental health condition. Globally, 1 in 7 people are living with a mental disorder, which is over 1 billion people living with a mental health disorder, representing a significant portion of the global population. It is not just a statistic; that’s our friends, our families, our communities.
Mental health doesn’t always show on the surface. It can affect anyone, your friend, your classmate, your colleague, even the person who seems to have it all together. That’s why I’m raising money for MQ Mental Health Research, to support life-changing research, improve understanding, and help create better treatments for those who need it most. Because everyone deserves someone to talk to. Everyone deserves support. And no one should feel like they have to suffer in silence.
If you can, please donate or share. Even the smallest support can make a difference in someone’s life.
Let’s turn silent struggles into shared strength.
