On October 3 I will be taking part in Boycott Your Bed, an annual sleepout which raises much needed money for Action for Children.

It will probably be cold, it may even rain and at 4am I’m probably going to be lying awake wondering why on earth I signed up to do it!

For those that know me well - you will know, as a Princess, this is massively out of my comfort zone - IYKYK!!!

So, why am I doing this?

I’m doing it because Action for Children desperately needs funds to help it to continue to provide much needed support and care for the most vulnerable young people here in the UK. Young people who through no fault of their own have become homeless, whether that’s sleeping in a doorway, or sofa surfing across their friendship group.

They don’t want to be there. They are there because there is no alternative. Often they flee the family home because of abuse. All they want is love and support. And that’s where Action for Children comes in. They have a knack of finding these frightened, lonely children, scooping them up in their arms and giving them that love, that support and, importantly, giving them that hope for a better future.

I am doing this because I cannot imagine what a life like this would be like. I cannot imagine because I am blessed with a fantastic family, super friends and a lot of love.
