Story
Principle Networks are excited to be bringing people together for a special event on Saturday 23rd May 2026, raising money and awareness for the incredible work of Dementia UK.
Dementia affects nearly a million people across the UK, so this is a cause that resonates with so many of us. Its impact stretches far beyond those diagnosed. Whether through family, friends, or colleagues many of us will be impacted by dementia is some form or another during our lives. It places emotional, physical, and financial strain on families and loved ones who often find themselves navigating an incredibly complex and painful journey. Dementia UK provides support and specialist nurses who can offer life support, emotional reassurance and expert guidance when people need it most. It’s a great course that deserves attention.
To raise them some cash, we’ll be taking on the stunning Ullswater Way in the Lake District. A challenging route that’s widely regarded as one of the most beautiful in the UK. This circular trail wraps around Ullswater, often described as England’s most scenic lake. The Ullswater Way offers a mix of dramatic mountain views, peaceful shoreline paths, and classic Lake District countryside. It’s approximately 20 miles (32 km) long, though we’ll be having an option to make it even more challenging for those who are willing.
Most importantly, this event is open to more than just our team. We’d really appreciate our customers, partners, and suppliers joining us if they can. Late May is a fantastic time to be in the Lakes, with longer daylight hours, spring colours still in full bloom, and (hopefully!) some decent weather. We’ll be taking it at a sociable pace, with plenty of opportunities to stop, take in the scenery, and enjoy the experience. Whether you’re there for the cause, the challenge, the scenery, or just the chance to connect with others, you are very welcome to join us. It’s a great opportunity to step away from the day-to-day and do something meaningful together. Expect a solid day’s walking with a total ascent of 600 - 800 metres. It’s enough to feel like a proper achievement without requiring elite-level fitness. The terrain varies from well-maintained paths to more rugged sections, with some steady climbs that reward you with incredible panoramic views across the lake and surrounding fells.
To make the most of the weekend, some of us will also be camping overnight (http://www.gillsidecaravanandcampingsite.co.uk). This adds a great social element to the event, offering time to relax after the walk and properly unwind. If the weather plays ball we’re planning a BBQ in the evening, which should make for a perfect end to the day. Good food, a few drinks, and a great group of people, all in a stunning setting.
If you’re up for a rewarding challenge, a memorable weekend, and the chance to make a real difference, we’d love you to join us.
