Story
Three members of the Noble family are dusting off their trainers to run 10km for Prisoners Abroad. They are Ben, Ollie, and their dad, Philip. They are busy getting fit for the Phoenix Run at Hookwood on 17 May!
Prisoners Abroad is a unique UK charity that provides vital support to Britains detained in prisons abroad where prisoners often face overcrowding, lack of food, clean water and medical care.
The charity can be a prisoner’s only link to the outside world. They often assist with life-saving support such as medication and essential food, as well as sending newsletters, cards and books.
Prisoners Abroad also provides a lifeline when the charity’s clients are returned to the UK – often after many years in prison and without any remaining ties in this country. The charity provides guidance and support with jobs, housing and retraining, to support reintegration into society. This is sometimes the only support available.
Prisoners Abroad are currently supporting over 1,000 British people held overseas; over 1700 friends and family members in the UK.
Philip, Ben and Ollie are aiming to raise £5,000 between them. For every £100 raised, Shackletons Wealth Management will add an extra 33% - so every £1 raised is worth £1.33. Whether you can donate a little or a lot, you can make a big difference to the charity’s important work with British people in prison overseas, and with their resettlement following release.
