Story

Dear family, friends, loved ones, and all you incredible human beings,

Losing my father, Dhiraj Virji Mawdia, when I was just 18, and my mother, Sharda Dhiraj Mawdia, at 36, showed me far too early how fragile and precious life truly is. As I approach my 40th birthday, I find myself reflecting not only on the dreams I’ve yet to chase, but also on the legacy of love, strength, and resilience my parents left with me.

It’s with them in my heart that I feel a deep connection to Rennie Grove Peace Hospice Care - a charity devoted to ensuring that no one faces illness or loss alone. Their work provides comfort, dignity, and support to patients and families during some of life’s most difficult moments, offering care that goes beyond the medical, touching hearts and lives in the most profound way.

As I step into my 40s, I want to do so with a spirit of adventure, fun, and maybe a little adrenaline too. But more than that, I want to grow in what I call Time Wealth, Physical Wealth, and Social Wealth - investing in moments, health, and human connection. To mark this new chapter, I’ll be taking on the Chiltern Three Peaks Challenge (18 miles) on Sunday 14th September.

This walk is just the beginning, but it carries a bigger purpose: to raise vital funds so Rennie Grove Peace can continue giving families the chance to spend meaningful time together when every moment truly matters. Your support could help provide counselling, care, and compassion for those facing life-limiting illnesses - and comfort for their loved ones when they need it most.

If you’re able, please donate whatever you can. Together, we can help others live fully, love deeply, and know they are never alone.

With love, gratitude, and hope,

Pritesh D Mawdia
