Story

I’ll be doing two treks (something I’ve never really done properly before) in Bhutan and thought it would be a good opportunity for a fundraiser. I then learnt about the amazing, life saving work that Kat animal Centre do and will now be volunteering there while in Nepal!

I won’t share them here, but I’ve seen photos of horrific and harsh realities of the incredibly distressing ‘before’ images of some of the animals that have been helped by KAT and the incredible transformation of them being happy and healthy after getting desperately needed treatment.

I’d very much appreciate any support to help KAT centre and save animal lives directly, but also as encouragement of what I know is going to be the most physically and emotionally demanding trip I’ve ever been on.

KAT Centre works in 4 core areas:

1. Rescuing helpless animals in their hour of need: “Every day our ambulance collects critically sick and injured animals, bringing them back to our vets for emergency treatment and loving care”.

2. Effective solutions to the street dog population crisis: “Informed by cutting edge science and with animal welfare in mind, we are humanely managing the street dog population of Nepal.”

3. Defeating rabies: “one of the world’s most deadly disease still claims thousands of fatalities each year. We’re working to defeat it.”

4. Teaching people life saving knowledge: “Our education programs give children and adults the tools they need to survive; teaching them to live alongside animals in safety and harmony.”
