Do help us to reach our goal!
Despite these turbulent, challenging times world-wide, enjoy sensational celebrations but please donate to our Christmas and New Year Appeal. Working together in unity is the only way to confront increasing poverty. The growing number of marginalised families, including in countries like Peru, are suffering financial, social, political and educational pressures without the benefit of any kind of safety net. Somehow Project Peru keeps going, in part due to our incredible loyal and hard-working Peruvian colleagues but also thanks to your ongoing and always appreciated generosity. Project Peru continues to flourish - offering food, clothes, shelter, education, health and fun to everyone who lives in our refuge in the desert shanty towns of Lima. All the children feel welcome, safe and loved in the beautiful positive space that is our refuge … we even have four students sitting the university entrance exams.
The refuge is surrounded by the sandy, dusty foothills of the Andes where little grows except the shanty towns. Contrast this with the oasis that is Project Peru where trees, flowers, butterflies and birds flourish, where the children have many friends to play games and sports with and the chance to dance, read, cook, make music - a bonus for our amazing Peruvian colleagues and children alike. Our library gives food for thought, our secret walled garden gives delicious food for energy and a resource for learning.
We are over the moon knowing that we have your encouragement and friendship. Your generosity and support really do ensure that Project Peru survives. Your help brings smiles to the faces of the children and makes a real difference to their lives and to our ongoing social initiatives and donations of food parcels in the local communities and when possible in isolated villages in the high Andes and in Amazonas.
Muchas gracias - a huge and heartfelt thank you, and warmest wishes always.
