Story

I'm joining the Mind Over Mountains Project 500 to help them raise £500,000 by June 2025, so they can provide more mental health support in nature to everyone who needs it across the UK.

My personal 500 within the challenge is to raise £500 by running the Great North Run.

You might think I’ve run loads before and this is easy for me, I’m owning up to the fact it’s not, I’ve really let myself go from my running heydays and starting from April 2024 I’m not half marathon fit.

I’m going to have to train hard to get into shape for a reasonable performance on race day and your donations will spur me on to do it. It’s all for a great cause.

Mind Over Mountains is a ground-breaking charity helping people overcome mental health challenges through therapeutic outdoor experiences. Their specialist wellbeing walks and retreats bring together professionally guided hill-walking, mindfulness, and quality time with experienced coaches and counsellors.

I’ve lost mates to suicide along the way and interventions like this could have been the difference to change that outcome so please support me and this amazing charity.

£25 could cover someone's travel costs to attend

£60 could fund a follow-on coaching or counselling session for an individual participant.

£90 could fund the full cost of a bursary place on one of our wellbeing walks

Thank you so much
