Story
Most people wait for life to change.
I almost waited too long.
I felt alone in crowded rooms
Struggled to express emotion
Never quite fit in.
I believed others were the problem
That one day, life would change on its own.
My dissatisfaction was a sign:
something had to give.
Still, I spent years waiting
Then came a scare that opened my eyes:
Hell is meeting the person you could have become.
Change didn’t take much
Raising my hand in class
Calling instead of messaging
Putting myself out there
At first, it felt uncomfortable
Then it didn’t.
And each time I grew, I stepped out again—
because that’s where the growth lives.
Eventually, my idea of “hard” shifted.
I developed self-confidence, a growth mindset,
and a brighter outlook on life.
I went all in—
on experiences,
on relationships,
on my wellbeing.
And I felt it:
Happier. Energised. Curious.
Curious about what’s possible when you commit.
Now, I’m chasing my biggest challenge yet:
To run 500km (310 miles) in 10 days.
I’m raising money for Sarcoma UK,
who supported my mum—and many others—through diagnosis.
