Story
The Timothy Pruss Memorial School (TPMS) in Inungur Village, in Tamil Nadu State, India, provides a unique opportunity for the children of poor rural families to have access to education, to learn English, and to thrive and prosper in a clean, safe and positive environment.
The school provides education for boys and girls from the ages of 5 to 12 years old. It is named after Michael (Mike) Pruss’s younger brother, Timothy (Tim), the son of Mary and the late Dr. Tony Pruss, who tragically died in a train accident aged 18 in 2005, shortly after finishing high school. The school in India was named in Tim’s honour and memory and is sponsored in part by the Pruss family and friends.

Mike was born and bred in East London where he grew up with his parents, both in the medical profession, the late Dr. Tony Pruss and his mother, now a retired nurse, Mary, and younger brother Tim.
Mike has worked in the entertainment business for almost two decades and is currently the President of Film Production at Scott Free, the film and television company owned and operated by Sir Ridley Scott. Prior to this, Mike worked at Focus Features, Paramount Pictures, and DreamWorks.
An avid runner, film lover, and West Ham fanatic, Mike serves on the board of the Bede Griffiths Charitable Trust which supports the school and its community in India.
Mike lives in the Los Angeles area with his wife, Marika, and their baby, Emily, and has two older daughters, Lucy and Juliette. This project is incredibly important to the Pruss family and by running this race Mike hopes to raise much needed funds for the school where in addition to the general poverty of the area, the Covid-19 pandemic’s effects are still deeply felt.
