Why the North East STEM Foundation?

The North East STEM Foundation was established in 2020 with the aim of helping young people to get involved and be excited by STEM based activity with a view of attracting the next generation of Engineers Scientist Designers etc. into a career with a STEM based requirement

Quite simply we wanted to create a Cradle to Career solution

The charity's aim is to ensure every young person, regardless of background, has an opportunity to study STEM subjects in a high-quality, modern environment supported by employers, futureproofing both industry and the local economy by delivering highly-skilled, innovative workers.

They aim to achieve this through:

- Inspiring by attracting future generations into the sector via STEM outreach programmes.

- Removing financial barriers to allow all children to access STEM education.

- Creating more high-quality STEM-focused environments at key stage 3, 4 and 5

-Working in Partnership with Others, to help build a better landscape in which to cultivate the Next/ Future Generation
