Parkinson’s Won’t Stop Us — Denmark, Here We Come
Eight players — all living with Parkinson’s (PwP) from PUK Harrogate — will travel and step onto the Padel courts of Denmark to compete in Parkinson’s Nordic Open 2026 on 29th May 2026 over a weekend of matches.
An international challenge with PwP from different countries such as Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Belgium and YORKSHIRE, with different stories and different stages of the condition, but with one shared belief:
We don’t just play Padel — we prove what’s possible.
At the heart of our team is our 82-year-old talisman Neville Farmer — a man whose energy, humour, and sheer willpower inspire everyone around him. When he’s not training, he’s singing in his local barbershop choir, reminding us that life with Parkinson’s can still be full of rhythm, movement, and joy.

Why we’re doing this
Parkinson’s changes lives — but it doesn’t define your life. Physical activity keeps us moving, builds confidence, and creates vital connection and purpose.
By stepping onto a court on an international stage, we want to:
Raise awareness of Parkinson’s
Encourage others to stay active after diagnosis
Show that age and long-term medical condition do not diminish your drive or ambition
Build a community of support and visibility
Together we rally — against Parkinson’s and for each other.
How your support helps
PUK Harrogate offers a range of services and activities.
The scope and the level of service we can and aspire to provide are dependent on the income we can generate locally.
All the money raised will be spent locally for the benefit of the local community.
Thank you for standing with us.
Parkinson’s won’t stop us — Denmark, here we come.
