Isle of Man Parish Walk · 21 June 2025

Fire Fighters Charity provides care and support to the UK’s fire family. It helps with any health and wellbeing challenges firefighters, control staff, and everyone working in – or retired from – the UK’s fire services, as well as their families, may face - during and after service

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page; after seeing the dedication of my colleagues Chris & Noah Mayne in 2024 to undertake the Parish Walk wearing their fire helmets, in 2025 I've committed to carrying Breathing Apparatus and wearing my fire kit whilst taking part in the parish walk to fundraise for the Fire Fighters Charity & Great North Air Ambulance.

This will be no small feat as a firefighter carries approx 15kg of kit whilst wearing a suit designed to repel heat, making this quite the challenge! I'm looking to go as far as possible and as best I can tell, the furthest recorded distance travelled is 57 miles so if I can manage anywhere near this, that would be incredible.

The Parish walk consists of an 85 mile walk between each of the 17 parish churches on the Isle of Man and has been taking place for over 112 years. For more info on the event, look here: https://www.parishwalk.com/page_500574.html

I'm fundraising for the Firefighters charity (UK) and the Great North Air Ambulance; the former provides physical and mental health support for all Britain's firefighters and their families while the air ambulance is a brilliant service which the Isle of Man is fortunate to have looking out for us.
