Story

A message from Simon Cox and Charles Woodd

No one should have to sleep rough on the streets, and everyone should get the support they need to find a place to call home. We are taking part in the Queen Eleanor Cycle Ride 2024 to raise funds for the Friends of the Connection, a volunteer-run charity which supports the work of central London’s leading homelessness charity, The Connection at St Martin-in-the-Fields. You can find out more about The Connection’s work at https://www.connection-at-stmartins.org.uk/.

We are members of St John Singers in Salisbury, who regularly cycle together with other members of the choir, therefore calling ourselves Song Cycle.

Charles Woodd has cycled the QECR almost every year since 2011, and is chair of the organising committee. This year he will be sharing the ride with QECR's secretary and one of its founders, David Holtam, as we both have dodgy knees!

Simon Cox has ridden the course quite a few times and has decided to have one last fling to show that, like Charles, he can still manage it having turned 70 years.

Please sponsor us, to support The Connection’s vital work. Any donation will be very gratefully received.
