QEHB's Mission to Move! 100k in a day Cycle Challenge · 20 February 2023

University Hospitals Birmingham Charity supports four hospitals in Birmingham - Queen Elizabeth, Heartlands, Good Hope, and Solihull. We support the patients, families and staff at our hospitals by providing 'added extras' that are over and above those which are provided by the NHS.

Story

Health Care of Older People (HCOP) Physiotherapy team are working with UHB Charity to conduct QEHB's Mission to Move! Can we work together to cycle 100k in a day?

The aim of this day is to encourage staff, patients and visitors to exercise more and get moving in general as part of the National Reconditioning Games movement.

Physiotherapists will be in the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham (QEHB) atrium to provide information about deconditioning, falls and exercise via display board

Staff from the physiotherapy team will take it in turns to have a go on a static exercise bike with the aim to cycle 100km during the course of the day.

They will also give out sponsorship forms to encourage patients, staff and visitors to take on their own sponsorship challenge of cycling, running or walking as far as they can in 30-days to get moving and raise money for UHB Charity.
