Story
Almost half the women in Pakistan has no formal education and are unskilled. We aim to highlight this issue using the platform provided by QS World Merit through their IMPACT PROGRAM in the hope of raising funds for our efforts against the problem.
Our proposed solution is the establishment of a vocational training center for the women of Jhimpir, a small village in the province of Sindh. We have transformed a discarded building into a training center to be used for learning and implementing the following skills:
1) Stitching
2) Sewing
3) Embroidery-works
Our implementation plan involves hiring 2 instructors and 2 batches of 10 apprentices. The apprentices are to be taught the aforementioned skills and schooled in reading of basic texts.
Our project timeline can be divided into 3 phases with phase 1 having seen completion.
2022 - Project Setting Up Phase (Completed)
2023-25 - Operational Phase
2026 - Self-Sustainability
All of the donation will be utilized for fulfilling the operational expenses to be incurred in Phase 2. We are in need of USD 11,380 as Annual Operational Expense for TWO batches from 2023 onwards. However, a funding of USD 5,815 covering the cost for ONE batch will also enable us to begin operations from 2023 onwards
To facilitate these projects and cover some admin costs for QS World Merit charity to develop the realization of these projects, we have a fixed cost of GBP 250 + 20% of the total amount above the target amount. The GBP 250 is already in the target amount
