Bee Lady Day Fundraiser

Jennifer Murden is raising money for Age UK Hull

Bake Sale · 14 May 2025

Jean Bishop, otherwise known as "The Bee Lady" was a Hull icon who raised over £125,000 for Age UK HEY in 30 years before sadly passing in 2021. In her memory and to continue her legacy, we are aiming to raise £100,000 just as she did.

Story

At the John Good Group we are hosting a bake sale fundraiser for Bee Lady Day at Quarry House. This is to raise money for Age UK Hull and East Yorkshire - a fantastic local charity supporting older people across our region.

🎂 Here’s how it works:

Bring in your best bakes—homemade or shop-bought, sweet or savoury, all are welcome!

Donations will be collected via a QR code, and all proceeds will go directly to Age UK Hull and East Yorkshire.

The Matthew Good Foundation will DOUBLE MATCH the total amount raised, tripling the impact of every bite you take!

For over 30 years, Jean raised nearly £125,000 for Age UK Hull & East Yorkshire, spreading joy and making a difference for countless individuals. To continue her legacy Age UK have set a goal of raising an additional £100,000 to support older people in our community who are facing struggles.

🧁 Let’s fill The Galley with good vibes and even better bakes—all in honour of Bee Lady Jean and a cause that really matters.
