We are delighted to be taking part in the on-site Queen Ethelburga’s Race for Life, on Friday 14 June 2024.

All students from Chapter House, King’s Magna, Queen Ethelburga’s College and Faculty will have the opportunity to walk or run in this inspiring event. All students will take part in either a 2.5km or 5km course according to age and ability. They will be supported by our sports Department who will lead an energetic and fun warm-up to music before the race, to ensure everyone is motivated and ready to take part!

Race for Life is Cancer Research UK’s biggest series of fundraising events raising money for research into all 200 types of cancer. Cancer Research UK was formed 20 years ago in 2002. Thanks to supporters like you, Cancer Research UK can continue pioneering work into how to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer which has benefited millions of lives. Over the last 40 years, cancer survival in the UK has doubled. In the 1970s just 1 in 4 people survived their disease for 10 years or more. Today, 2 in 4 survive. Cancer Research UK’s ambition is to accelerate progress and see 3 in 4 patients surviving the disease by 2034.
