The return of the 'back to the locals' Loony Dook for 2024.
Chief Loony (his own words) and organiser Tony Pirouet was sad to see the Loony Dook being pulled from the Edinburgh Hogmanay celebrations for welcoming 2023 so decided to try and pull it off himself.
And he did! It was a great success so he's decided to do it again and very generously has asked for donations to be made to Queensferry RNLI again.
Queensferry RNLI has been involved with the Loony Dook for many many years, with fundraisers taking to the streets with collection buckets and some of the crew 'dooking' themselves.
It's a great community event that Queensferry RNLI have enjoyed being a part of and have always appreciated the donations that have come from it. It's great to see it continue.
The RNLI is the charity that saves lives at sea. More than ever people need the help of the RNLI but too many people are still drowning. This needs to change and thanks to your help, it can.
Queensferry lifeboat station is crewed by volunteers, who provide a 24 hour search and rescue service. We rely on the support of our local communities to power our lifesaving service. Your support will help the running of lifeboat stations like Queensferry and, ultimately, help to save lives.
Charities pay a small fee for our service. Learn more about fees
