Story
I’m taking on a marathon to support a cause that means so much to me ❤️
While living in Sheffield, I was surrounded by an incredible community dedicated to supporting women’s education. Their kindness shaped my journey in ways I will never forget. One supporter, in particular, became like family to me—someone I feel shy calling a “friend,” because the care and love she showed me were truly like that of a mother.
She has always given so much to others, but since last summer, she has been seriously unwell and in and out of hospital. It been hard year and not possible to be as active as she would love especially with all things she use to do for raising money to this charity such as Small Park Big Run event and Garden tea parties.
Being far away since moving to West Sussex, I’ve often felt limited in how I can give back and help. So this is my way of saying thank you and help by running a marathon to raise funds for the charity that brought us together - Sheffield Palestine Women's Scholarship fund.
The funds raised will support one student’s full academic year, including accommodation. In Palestine, a Bachelor degree typically is 4 to 6 years, depending on the chosen field of study. This educational journey represents a significant financial commitment for families, alongside the many other challenges they face in their daily lives.
For me this is also a personal challenge. I tend to rush into things, but marathon training demands patience, consistency, and endurance. I hope this journey will teach me as much as it gives back.
If you’re able to support or share this page with others, I would be truly grateful 💛 Every little bit helps.
