Story
This year began with a clear plan: to train for the Manchester Marathon on 19th April, alongside my training partner, Fay Brennan. We were already five weeks into our training plan when I received a phone call that completely stopped me in my tracks.
Severn Hospice asked if I would represent them in the London Marathon.
How could I possibly say no?
Severn Hospice holds a very special place in my heart. Their incredible palliative care supported our loved ones with compassion, dignity, and comfort. They gave our family the gift of precious memories at the hardest time of our lives, and we will be forever in their debt. Supporting them is not just a cause—it’s personal.
So here I am, taking on not just one, but two marathons on consecutive weekends. It’s daunting, yes. It’s a huge physical and mental challenge. And on top of that, I have a fundraising target of £2,500—another mountain to climb.
But every time I lace up my trainers, every 4 (sometimes 5!) training runs a week, and every mile I push through, I do it with pride knowing that your sponsorship will directly support Severn Hospice and the incredible work they do.
Over the coming months, please keep an eye out for a series of fundraising events I’ll be organising. Life is about to get even busier as I’m also due to become a doggy mum — my lovely Nala is expecting puppies soon! With training, fundraising, work, and puppies, it’s going to be full-on… but so worth it.
Some fundraising activities may take place after the marathons, but any support you can give now will help me get as close to my target as possible before the big day.
Friends, family, colleagues—even kind strangers—your encouragement and donations will be the motivation that carries me through this unbelievable challenge. People keep telling me I’m mad for attempting both marathons… and maybe I am! But I wouldn’t do it for any other charity.
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. Let’s do this—for them. 💛🏃♀️
