Story
I thought I'd retired from both long distance running and fundraising. However life sometimes throws a spanner in the works - in this case, a big, cancer shaped spanner. My lovely Graham has been diagnosed with a reoccurrence of the cancer he'd beaten in 2021, and faces -months of chemotherapy, radiotherapy and surgery.
Whilst I'm very proud of his resilience and bravery, I'm feeling rather useless in terms of helping him through this. Not being able to fix this is hard, and I want to make a difference. So, I'm going to dust off the running plans, embrace the 5.30am training runs before work and tackle the Warwick Half (with Archie!) in order to raise some money for the Coventry University Hospital, where he'll be treated.
If anyone would like to sponsor me, I'd be very grateful. Aside from a few parkruns and 5k plods around home, I've not tackled a serious distance in a few years, so this isn't going to be easy. At least Graham will see I'm suffering a bit too!
