Climbing Kilimanjaro · 29 February 2024
In March 2024, Niamh and I will travel to Tanzania to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro on behalf of The Nasio Trust. At 5,895m Kilimanjaro is the tallest freestanding mountain in the world.
Our aim is to summit on international women’s day (Friday March 8) alongside an all female expedition team. We’re extremely proud to have the opportunity to join this particular climb to celebrate IWD.
The Nasio Trust is dedicated to transforming the lives of disadvantaged children in Kenya. The foundation's mission typically involves initiatives such as providing access to education, healthcare, clean water, and other essential resources, as well as supporting community development projects. Their work is crucial in addressing pressing socio-economic challenges and fostering sustainable progress in the region, ultimately empowering individuals and improving overall well-being.
Following the completion of our climb we will travel to Kenya to volunteer at The Nasio Trust’s early childhood development centres where they provide daily meals, pre-primary education and medical care to over 400 children.
The cost of the climb combined with fundraising targets has been set by the charity at £4,895 each. The Nasio Trust have set our private costs (flights, accommodation and trekking) at £1,995. We will be covering this ourselves outside of fundraising, as well as necessary vaccinations, insurance and equipment etc. Therefore, total funds raised through this page and our fundraising efforts will go directly to supporting The Nasio Trust .
