Rachael's Great North Fun & Honister Via Ferrata

Great North Run 2023 · 10 September 2023 ·
After having a whole year and a half out of running and trekking I'm taking on two challenges within two weeks of each other in September. The first being the Great North Run on 10th September and the second climbing Honister slate mine on the 23rd September!
Both events make me nervous, the Great North Run because this will be the furthest I've ran in 2 years and Honister because I have a huge fear of falling! But I love a good challenge so here we are; and of course I couldn't let the opportunity pass to raise funds for the amazing charity and families I have the privilege to work with.
Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice is the only UK children’s hospice that specialises in supporting children who have life-limiting or life-threatening illnesses or profound disabilities with a wide range of diagnoses.
Our nurse-led care focusses on helping children make the most of everyday moments and experiences, with further support available for the whole family. We offer a range of therapies and activities for children who stay with us for regular respite care, helping them to embrace their childhood.
It costs in excess of £1.5million each year to open the doors of Zoe's Place to the families supported by the services the nursing team provide.
Without fundraising and donations from corporate supporters and members of the general public, Zoe's Place would not be able to care for the families accessing care there.
Please please donate if you can and I promise I'll provide lots of scared Rachael pics of me hanging off the side of Honsiter! Because after all, if i've got sponsorship, I can't back out!
