🧠 The Brain Charity helps people affected by all forms of neurological condition to lead longer, healthier, happier lives. There are more than 600 conditions affecting the brain, spine & nervous system. We champion neurodiversity & provide practical help, emotional support & social activities. 🧠

Story

On the 27th October 2014 my life was forever changed after I was diagnosed with Guillain-Barré Syndrome. This resulted in a 2 month ICU admission followed by almost 3 months of intensive rehab.

March 2025 will mark the 10 year anniversary of my discharge from hospital. To celebrate the occasion, & revel in the fact our bodies can do incredible things, I’ll be running the Kew Gardens 10K & raising money for The Brain Charity.

If I can learn how to breathe, walk, talk & eat in 5 months, running shouldn’t be too hard..?

The Brain Charity help people affected by all forms of neurological condition to lead longer, healthier, happier lives.

There are more than 600 conditions affecting the brain, spine and nervous system. We are the only charity in the UK to support every single one.

Each year, we provide practical help, emotional support, and social activities to thousands of people from all over the UK and their family, friends, and carers.

We champion neurodiversity and fight for an inclusive and just society, free of stigma, hardship and isolation.
