Many of you know my love for cricket, in particular women's cricket, and I'm glad to be provided with the opportunity to work with Cricket without Boundaries, a non-profit dedicated to growing the game of cricket, while using the sport as a platform for health education and social change. In my role, I will be travelling to Nepal in February - March '24 to support school and community-based coaching alongside the Nepal Cricket Foundation to promote gender equality through cricket.

Girls in Nepal face widespread discrimination and disadvantage due to their gender. This increases their risk of mental ill health, exposes them to violence, and limits their life opportunities. I deeply care about creating a more equal, healthier, and happier future for youth in emerging markets, and I believe that sport can be a powerful tool for engagement, inclusion, and development.

As a volunteer, I will be supporting the delivery and evaluation of an action plan designed for adolescent girls in Nepal, and I will be working in the Morang district of south-eastern Nepal that borders India. By using play-based activities and cricket-based games, the Cricket Without Boundaries project aims to facilitate positive changes in societal gender norms and create a more equal, healthier, and happier future for the youth in Nepal.

Cricket without Boundaries runs almost entirely by the dedication and enthusiasm of the volunteers, and your donation will go towards purchasing cricket equipment (which will be left in the country) and running the coaching program. Any amount is highly appreciated!
