PLEASE HELP US FUNDRAISE FOR GATEWAYS
Gateways exists to support young Jewish people, between the ages of 14-25, who are or have struggled to remain in mainstream education, many struggling with their social, emotional and mental health - ranging from anxiety to depression, trauma to eating disorders amongst other issues.
We are participating in a 13 mile walk to help fundraise for this fabulous charity.
And as you’ll know that is definitely no easy challenge for one of us, so definitely worthy of a bob or two in support!
More about the cause:
Did you know:
- 1 in 5 young people with poor mental health drop out of school.
- 1 in 4 avoid school or college because they fear being judged.
- 2 in 5 see their grades slip.
- 7 in 10 feel their confidence and self-esteem shattered.
- 1 in 2 stop seeing friends and socialising.
Gateways was founded in 2013 and due to increased demand and its continued success and growth, it became a registered charity in September 2023.
It is now based in its own specially designed home in Hendon and it remains the only alternative provision supporting young Jewish people who are, or have struggled to remain in mainstream education.
Many believe there is no other option available to them.
Through the delivery of a carefully selected and flexible curriculum, this unique provision for the UK Jewish community meets the interests, abilities, and specific needs of each student, while preparing them for life beyond education and not allowing them to completely fall out of the system.
At Gateways, young people are seen and understood, given the space to re-engage with learning, rebuild confidence, and move forward with hope.
Everyone should have the same opportunity to progress, regardless of the challenges they face, please show your support and donate generously to help young people in our community who can't manage mainstream school get the education they deserve.
Not everyone's journey will be the same, and that's ok. However there is a lack of facilities providing alternative services such as Gateways and in supporting Gateways you can help afford a better future for the children who need it.
Thank you for your support to this amazing charity
