In October 2021 I was diagnosed with breast cancer. What followed was a year of treatment: chemotherapy, surgery, radiotherapy and ongoing treatment to help prevent any recurrence. Throughout my treatment I walked; I walked to give me energy, I walked to escape the fears of cancer, I walked to pray and I walked to stay strong and fight the effects of the drugs in my system. Apart from the odd few days where chemo 'got me', I walked....with Alfie, my Cocker Spaniel at my side.

On Friday June 30th I will be attempting to walk the Yorkshire 3 peaks with my support crew (James and Alfie) The challenge to walk 25 mile and complete the peaks of Pen-y-Ghent (694m), Whernside (736m) and Ingleborough (723m) in under 12 hours with a total ascent of 1500m.

Breast Cancer Now: Having been recently diagnosed, I know first hand the importance of research into vital and ground breaking breast cancer treatment both for primary and secondary cancer and the support provided by this charity as you're going through treatment.

The Red Hen Project: A charity I work for in Cambridge who provide support for families in crisis and who experience ongoing challenges. The charity supports families to raise happy, healthy and independent children. They were also an incredible support to me as I went through my treatment.
