Story
I’m a Science teacher at Cardinal Allen Catholic High School, and on Sunday 26th April I completed my very first marathon - The London Marathon!
After securing my place, I wanted to use the opportunity to support a cause that means a great deal to me: The Pantry Foodbank in Fleetwood, which is run by the amazing charity, Faith in the Community.
In my role at school, I see every day how important community support really is. Many of the families in our school rely on The Pantry to help provide food and essentials during difficult times. Knowing that this support is needed by some of the pupils I spend time with each day makes this cause incredibly close to my heart.
The Pantry offers more than just food; it provides reassurance and a sense of community when people need it most.
Training for and completing the marathon was a huge challenge, but it felt small compared to the challenges some families are facing. During the race, I kept reminding myself why I was doing this and who it would help, and that carried me through to the finish.
If you’re able to donate, you’ll be directly supporting families in my local school community.
Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and for helping make a real difference.
