Rachel Cherry is raising money for Something To Look Forward To

Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge · 19 May 2025

‘Something To Look Forward To’ improves the quality of life for cancer patients and their families by providing gifts, experiences, and essentials, helping to relieve the financial burden associated with cancer treatment and allowing those affected to focus on rest, recuperation, wellbeing, and positive memory building.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In May, Luke and I are taking on the Yorkshire 3 peaks challenge to raise money for the "Something to look forward to" charity.

The challenge involves a 24 mile/38.6km round hike taking on the peaks of Whernside, Ingleborough and Pen-y-ghent in the Yorkshire dales (5200ft ascent) within 12 hours.

"Something to look forward to" is a wonderful charity that raises money for cancer patients and their families to help them financially and also create happy memories and enjoyable times during the difficult times. They do this by using the money to provide gifts to the families through experience days, hotel stays, dining out etc. This is so important because at the end of the day these happy times and memories are what's left. Also, a lot of cancer patients really struggle financially after a diagnosis and struggle to support their families - this charity would help support them.

As most of you may know, my mum passed away from breast cancer at the age of 31. 12 years on, looking back on the happy times is what keeps her memory alive - like going to Disneyland Paris a few months before she passed. I only hope that other people going through this get to have lasting memories with their loved ones.

Any money that could be donated to sponsor us would be amazing - you'd really be benefitting a wonderful charity and the families of those struggling with cancer.

Thank you for reading.
