Ever since watching Stacy Dooley's documentary on Child sexual exploitation in the Philippines, I have wanted to do something to help tackle this grotesque abuse of children's fundamental human rights.
The issue is hard to face as it is so disturbing, but it needs to be faced as children are suffering, and the scale of abuse is staggering.
The documentary left me feeling physically sick, despairing, and furious.
Running a marathon and seeking sponsorship is my way of contributing in a small way to fight this vile abuse of vulnerable children.
I am nervous, but I know I will push through my mental and physical barriers; if my partaking in the Manchester marathon helps even one child escape this hell on earth, I will bloody well do it.
Any contributions towards supporting the ECPAT's global campaign to end child sexual exploitation would be massively appreciated.
