I’ve lived in the village for many years and at previous Dorchester festivals, I have seen some extremely brave people abseiling from the top of the tower and thought that looks fun, but definitely not expecting to actually be doing it myself!! I should probably mention that I am genuinely scared of heights. Still, I’ll be bravely stepping (or clinging) over the edge to raise money for our much-loved Abbey and for Be Free Young Carers, an amazing charity supporting young people who do so much for others. Every sponsor, no matter how big or small, will give me courage, steady my shaking knees, and help two brilliant causes — so please donate and enjoy the thought of me dangling dramatically from the Abbey tower!
