We help by supporting children and young people with hearing impairment eg specialist equipment to improve listening in classrooms and homes. We organise a range of social activities and talks throughout the year to support parents and carers. We also provide information and helpful contacts.

Story

On Sunday, we are doing a sponsored walk organised by the Shropshire Deaf Children’s Society (SDCS).

Matilda was diagnosed with Congenital Conductive Hearing Loss aged 4 and has worn some form of bilateral hearing aid ever since; they have quite literally changed her life!

The SDCS provide a safe place for children like Matilda to be seen and heard; they organised family days not just for the child with hearing loss but the whole family, where everyone is accepted for exactly who they are.

The walk we are doing may not be a huge physical challenge, but it will help raise awareness and vital funds for children like Matilda, who face a much bigger challenge every day.

The SDCS have given us a lot of support over the past few years and it’s nice to be able to give a little back.

If you can, every little bit helps and is very gratefully received.
