Story
Liz loved the hills and mountains; they were embedded deep in her soul and even on the most challenging days during her illness, she was always happiest when climbing up a giant hill with Ogwen. For Liz, joy was always to be found at the top of a hill; the steeper the better.
We have chosen the Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue Association as this was an area she loved, so much that she named her dog Ogwen in honour of these beautiful hills.
Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue Organisation (OVMRO), or Sefydliad Achub Mynydd Dyffryn Ogwen as they are known in the native Welsh language, is a voluntary mountain rescue team responding to incidents in the mountains and valleys surrounding the Ogwen Valley, Glyderau, and Carneddau mountain ranges and surrounding area in northern Snowdonia. They are on-call 24 hours a day, throughout the year.
